“Former Migos Member Offset Shot Outside Florida Casino”

Date:

Offset, a former member of the renowned hip-hop group Migos, was shot outside a casino in Florida and is currently in stable condition, according to a spokesperson on Tuesday. The rapper, who was previously married to Cardi B, was receiving medical treatment at a hospital following the shooting on Monday night, with the exact severity of his injuries remaining undisclosed, though deemed non-life threatening by authorities.

Offset’s cousin Takeoff, another member of Migos, tragically lost his life in a shooting incident at a Houston bowling alley over three years ago. The recent shooting involving Offset occurred after a dispute outside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, near Miami. Although one person sustained injuries in the altercation, their identity was not disclosed by the police.

Two individuals were apprehended at the scene, one of whom was the rapper Lil Tjay, also known as Tione Jayden Merritt. Lil Tjay was charged with disorderly conduct and driving without a valid license. His attorney clarified that he did not possess a firearm and was not accused of any gun-related offenses. Lil Tjay posted bail related to the charges and was expected to be released the following afternoon.

The second detained individual remains uncharged, with investigators actively working to identify additional parties involved in the incident. Offset, born Kiari Kendrell Cephus, rose to fame as part of Migos, an Atlanta-based trio renowned for their distinctive rapid-fire triplet flow that significantly influenced the trap music genre.

Migos gained recognition with their 2013 hit “Versace” and achieved chart-topping success with singles like “Bad and Boujee,” “Stir Fry,” “Narcos,” and “T-Shirt.” The group released four successful albums before the tragic loss of Takeoff. Offset and Cardi B tied the knot secretly in 2017, but Cardi B filed for divorce in 2024. The couple shares three children.

Quavo, the third member of Migos, organized an anti-gun violence summit following Takeoff’s passing. Police revealed that Takeoff was an innocent bystander caught in the shooting aftermath of a dice game disagreement. His death added to a series of fatal incidents involving hip-hop icons such as Nipsey Hussle, Pop Smoke, PnB Rock, and Young Dolph.

Offset ventured into a solo career before the untimely demise of Takeoff. As a solo artist, Offset is recognized for his unique melodic and aggressive finesse. His solo discography includes three albums: “Father of Four” (2019), “Set It Off” (2023), and “Kiari” (2025). Offset described “Set It Off” as a bold step towards reclaiming the essence of rap and “Kiari” as a rebellious statement reflecting his true self amid pressures to conform.

Following Migos rapper Takeoff’s death, a movement against gun violence within the hip-hop community emerged, shedding light on the ongoing concerns surrounding safety and security in the industry.
