The 44-year-old tennis icon, who last participated in the 2022 U.S. Open, refrained from using the term “retiring” but instead expressed a transition away from the sport. Amid uncertainties surrounding her future in tennis, Williams clarified her stance by posting, “Omg yall I’m NOT coming back. This wildfire is crazy.”
