“Drake and Anil Mohabir Illuminate CN Tower with Triple-Album Drop”

Date:

Anil Mohabir expressed his surreal feelings about his recent collaboration with Drake in launching the rapper’s latest music. Mohabir played a significant role in projecting an icy blue wave of light onto the CN Tower, accompanied by a fireworks display that unveiled Drake’s triple-album drop consisting of “Iceman,” “Habibti,” and “Maid of Honour.”

The elaborate projection involved detailed planning to freeze the tower in real-time using 3D animation and lighting effects that simulated ambient light hitting the ice from various angles. Studio AM’s founder, Mohabir, who specializes in digital and technical visual design projects, had a brief three-week notice to execute the ambitious presentation in coordination with various teams and authorities.

The visually stunning display utilized 75 projectors from Canada and other countries, valued at approximately $15 million, with each projector costing around $200,000. Mohabir’s team, comprising about 300 individuals, successfully brought the sky-high visual to life, leaving everyone amazed once the projection was activated.

In addition to the CN Tower event, an earlier livestream featured Drake riding through the city in an “Iceman”-branded truck, adding to the anticipation leading up to the album release. Drake’s series of attention-grabbing stunts included placing ice blocks in a downtown parking lot, creating explosive displays in various locations, and transforming his courtside seats at the Scotiabank Arena into ice.

Mohabir highlighted Drake’s commitment to showcasing Canadian creativity and elevating Toronto’s profile, emphasizing the opportunity for local talents to realize their imaginative projects at a remarkable level through collaborations with Drake.
