Taylor Swift Joins “Toy Story 5” Soundtrack with Original Track

Date:

Taylor Swift shared exciting news on Monday, announcing her upcoming collaboration with the fifth installment of the renowned “Toy Story” franchise. Swift will contribute an original track titled “I Knew It, I Knew You” to the movie’s soundtrack, set to release on Friday, June 5.

Taking to Instagram, Swift expressed her thrill at the opportunity, reflecting on her lifelong admiration for the beloved “Toy Story” characters. She stated, “It’s a *Toy* Story 🤠 You knew it! I’ve always dreamed of getting to write for these characters who I’ve adored since I was a 5-year-old kid.”

True to her signature style, Swift teased her involvement through a countdown on her website, featuring imagery of Jessie, the cowgirl from “Toy Story,” and a billboard cleverly incorporating the singer’s initials in the film’s distinctive font. The buzz around Swift’s participation escalated when Pixar shared a video on Instagram showcasing a TS billboard alongside a dancing Jessie, alluding to Swift’s hit song “Shake it Off.”

Fans eagerly joined the speculation, noting intricate details such as the presence of 13 clouds on the billboard, a nod to Swift’s fondness for the number 13. Further connecting the dots, enthusiasts observed thematic parallels between Swift’s album artwork for “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” and the “Toy Story” universe, fueling excitement across social media platforms.

While this marks Swift’s first foray into the “Toy Story” realm, the accomplished artist has prior experience in animation, having voiced characters in films like “The Lorax” and made appearances in animated series like “Take Two with Phineas and Ferb.”

“Toy Story 5” is slated to premiere on June 19, reuniting fans with iconic characters like Woody and Buzz, who face a new technological challenge in the upcoming installment.
