“John Schneider in Contention for Manager of the Year”

Date:

After the recent World Series defeat, John Schneider has emerged as a top contender for the Manager of the Year award for leading the Toronto Blue Jays to a successful season in the American League. The winner of this prestigious accolade, determined by the Baseball Writers’ Association of America, will be revealed on November 11. Joining Schneider as finalists are Dan Wilson of the Seattle Mariners and Stephen Vogt of the Cleveland Guardians.

Schneider, who has been managing for four years with three full seasons under his belt, orchestrated a remarkable revival for the Blue Jays. In 2024, the team finished last in the AL East with a 74-88 record. However, in 2025, they turned things around and clinched the division title by defeating the Tampa Bay Rays 13-4 in a crucial regular-season finale, edging out the New York Yankees in a tiebreaker.

The Blue Jays’ impressive regular-season performance was followed by an exhilarating playoff journey. They triumphed over the Yankees in a four-game division series and the Mariners in a thrilling seven-game championship series before ultimately succumbing to the Los Angeles Dodgers in a hard-fought seven-game World Series battle.
