“Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg to Reimagine ‘The Littlest Hobo’ for New Generation”

Date:

Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, the renowned Canadian creative pair, are delving into a nostalgic endeavor by reimagining the iconic Canadian series, “The Littlest Hobo,” for a modern audience. The fresh adaptation of “The Littlest Hobo” was recently disclosed as part of Bell Media’s upcoming screen projects and is set to be a live-action scripted series.

The original show, which originally aired on CTV from 1979 to 1985, followed the adventures of a clever and homeless German shepherd that roamed from town to town, aiding individuals in need. Rogen and Goldberg, who fondly remember “The Littlest Hobo” from their childhood, expressed their enthusiasm for bringing it back to life for a new generation.

In a joint statement, Rogen and Goldberg assured fans that while the hobo may remain small in size, the upcoming adventures will be grand in scale, debunking any comparisons to the giant dog Clifford. Production specifics, casting details, and the premiere date of the revamped series will be disclosed later.

The revival of “The Littlest Hobo” is a collaborative effort between Rogen and Goldberg’s Point Grey Pictures and Lionsgate, showcasing their commitment to creating exceptional Canadian content. This project follows the success of their award-winning comedy series “The Studio,” a satirical depiction of the lives of movie studio executives.

Both Rogen and Goldberg, who hail from Vancouver, have an impressive track record in the entertainment industry, with hits like “Superbad,” “Pineapple Express,” “The Boys,” and a reimagining of “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” under their belts. Their dedication to producing top-notch Canadian content was highlighted when they first announced their partnership with Bell Media and Lionsgate Canada in December 2024.

The duo emphasized their goal of delivering innovative and lucrative projects that showcase Canada’s creative prowess, likening the output to the smooth flow of syrup from a maple tree.
