Peel police reported that the second victim in a collision involving a teenage driver in Brampton on Saturday was not discovered until hours after the incident, as both vehicles had already been moved to the impound yard. The crash occurred at Chinguacousy Road and Queen Street W. around 4:20 a.m., with the second body found at approximately 5:30 p.m., more than 12 hours later.
Const. Tyler Bell-Morena described the discovery as “gruesome” and mentioned that the condition of the vehicle made it difficult to initially locate the victim. A Blue Audi collided with a Black Honda Civic at the intersection, resulting in another crash with a pole that caused both vehicles to leave the roadway. Three individuals from the Audi sustained minor injuries and a 31-year-old man in the Black Honda Civic was found deceased and had to be extracted.
It was revealed that the driver and the passenger in the Black Honda Civic were not acquainted, as the passenger had booked a rideshare after a social gathering. Peel police Const. Amanda Steenson mentioned that there was no immediate indication of a passenger when the driver was removed from the vehicle. Subsequently, the vehicles were taken to the impound yard.
Following reports of a missing 20-year-old woman whose last known location coincided with the crash site, police investigated and found her remains embedded in the wreckage of the Honda Civic. Brampton fire and emergency responders were called upon to help extract the woman’s body. The authorities emphasized the sensitivity of the situation and requested privacy for the grieving families.
Two separate reports of the missing woman were received, one from family and another from a friend, approximately an hour apart. The 17-year-old youth driving the second vehicle was charged with dangerous driving causing death and failure to comply with demand. The case has now been handed over to the Major Collision Bureau for further investigation.
