“Ottawa Redblacks Appoint Ryan Dinwiddie as New Head Coach and GM”

Date:

The Ottawa Redblacks have appointed a new head coach and general manager. Ryan Dinwiddie, previously with the Toronto Argonauts where he secured two Grey Cup championships in five seasons, has taken over coaching responsibilities from Bob Dyce. Dyce was relieved of his position after Ottawa finished the season with a 4-14 record, failing to qualify for the CFL playoffs.

In addition to becoming the head coach, Dinwiddie has also assumed the role of general manager, while Shawn Burke, who was initially appointed to the GM position in December 2021, has been promoted to vice-president of football operations within the organization.

Dinwiddie’s move from Toronto to Ottawa was a step up from his previous role with the Argos, allowing him to take on the new responsibilities with the Redblacks.

Ottawa has struggled to make the CFL playoffs, missing out in five of the last six seasons since their defeat to the Calgary Stampeders in the 2018 Grey Cup.
