The Ottawa Redblacks have terminated head coach Bob Dyce following the team’s sixth consecutive loss to conclude the season. The decision was made following Ottawa’s 35-15 defeat to Hamilton, resulting in the team missing the CFL playoffs for the fifth time since their 2018 Grey Cup appearance. Dyce, who joined the Redblacks in 2016 as a special-teams coordinator before assuming the head coach position in 2022, guided the team to a 9-8-1 record and a playoff spot last season after a five-year absence. However, this year, the team ended with a 4-14 record under his leadership, bringing his overall coaching record to 18-39-1. General manager Shawn Burke expressed the challenges of the decision, commending Dyce’s dedication and diligence.
