Two days following the apprehension of ex-reality TV personality Joseph Duggar, his spouse Kendra Duggar was also served with an arrest warrant. The Tontitown Arkansas Police Department disclosed that Kendra Duggar faced four charges each of endangering the welfare of a minor and false imprisonment in the second degree on Friday. These charges were similarly directed at Joseph Duggar, who had been arrested the prior week for inappropriate conduct with a minor under 12 years old. The charges stemmed from an alleged incident in 2020 involving a 9-year-old girl in Panama Beach, Fla.
Joseph Duggar, who was detained in Tontitown and later waived his right to an extradition hearing on Friday, is expected to be transferred to Florida to face the child molestation accusation. Kendra Duggar, on the other hand, was released after posting a $1,470 US bond following her arrest. The Duggar family declined to comment on the matter when approached by CBC News.
The charges against Joseph and Kendra Duggar come nearly five years after Joseph’s older sibling Josh Duggar was found guilty of downloading child sexual abuse images. Josh, who was sentenced to 12½ years in prison in 2022, had his appeal rejected by the Supreme Court in 2024. Both Josh and Joseph Duggar were part of the reality TV show “19 Kids and Counting,” which chronicled the lives of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar and their children. The show was canceled in 2015 following allegations of Josh Duggar’s previous misconduct.
The Duggar family’s courtship and marriage of Joseph and Kendra were featured on the subsequent series “Counting On,” but the couple has since retreated from public view. Their most recent public Instagram post dates back to 2021, commemorating their third child’s second birthday.
