A safety recall has been initiated for Panasonic Flashxpress Toaster Ovens in the United States and Canada due to a potential electric shock hazard. The affected toaster ovens include models NB-G205S and NB-G200SVA, which can be identified by checking the model numbers on the product label located at the back of the toaster oven.
The issue revolves around the power cord of the toaster oven. Panasonic warned that the insulation of the cord might be insufficient as a protective fiberglass sleeve may not completely cover it, posing a risk of electric shock or fire. In response, Panasonic, alongside Health Canada and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, has advised consumers to discontinue using the affected toaster ovens and return them to the company for a refund.

As of June 15, Health Canada reported no injuries related to the power cord issue. In the U.S., Panasonic has received five reports of circuit breakers tripping in connection with the toaster ovens, but no injuries have been reported.
