Nissan is conducting a recall of approximately 38,000 vehicles in Canada and 444,000 in the United States due to a bearing issue that may result in engine damage or failure. The Canadian recall impacts 37,837 vehicles, including Nissan Rogue and Altima models, as well as Infiniti QX50 and QX55 models.
According to documents submitted to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in the U.S., Nissan identified bearing failures in models equipped with turbo engines. Nissan Canada revealed the specific affected models, which include 26,592 Nissan Rogue vehicles from 2021-2024, one 2019-2020 Nissan Altima, 10,456 Infiniti QX50 vehicles from 2019-2022, and 788 2022 Infiniti QX55 vehicles.
Nissan spokesperson Didier Marsaud mentioned that owners of the impacted vehicles can expect to receive a notification letter by August 22nd with instructions to take their vehicle to a Nissan dealer or INFINITI retailer for inspection and necessary repairs.
