Jason Kelce Clarifies Comments on World Series and Canadian Baseball

Date:

Former Philadelphia Eagles center, Jason Kelce, clarified his recent comments regarding the World Series after facing backlash from Canadian baseball fans. In a podcast episode with his brother Travis, Kelce questioned his interest in a “Canadian baseball team” competing against a team with a significant financial advantage in the World Series.

The Toronto Blue Jays reached Game 7 of the World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers, the team with the highest payroll in MLB. Travis Kelce, a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, praised both teams for delivering an intense and exciting seven-game series.

Following the criticism, Jason Kelce took to social media to explain that his comments were taken out of context. He expressed his admiration for Canadian culture, humorously mentioning his love for poutine, maple syrup, and beavers. Kelce clarified that his remarks were focused on his lack of personal investment in the outcome of a team that heavily invested in building a competitive roster winning the World Series.
