The popularity of Crave’s series “Heated Rivalry” has extended beyond the screens and into the realms of fashion and the Olympics. Fans were captivated by a specific outfit worn by character Shane Hollander, portrayed by Canadian actor Hudson Williams, sparking a demand for the garment.
In the show, Hollander, a Canadian hockey prodigy with aspirations for Olympic glory, dons a custom-designed Team Canada zip-up fleece. The unique sportswear gained traction on social media, with enthusiasts expressing their eagerness to acquire it. Costume designer Hanna Puley shared her inspiration behind the creation, emphasizing the fusion of comfort, Canadian identity, and subtle confidence in the design.
The frenzy surrounding the fleece caught the attention of the official Team Canada account. In response to the fervor, they teased the possibility of an actual “Heated Rivalry” fleece, generating further excitement among fans. A Change.org petition emerged, urging Team Canada to endorse the design as a means to engage diverse fans in a more inclusive manner.
While some fans attempted to replicate the fleece independently, regulations stipulate that only authorized entities can associate with the Olympic Games. Additionally, the National Flag of Canada is safeguarded by the Trademarks Act, prohibiting unauthorized commercial usage of its symbols.
As of now, Team Canada has not issued a statement regarding the potential production of the coveted fleece, leaving enthusiasts eager for further updates.
