“Catherine O’Hara’s Vintage CBC Skit Resurfaces”

Date:

Almost four decades ago, during a 1978 interview on CBC with Paul Soles, celebrated Canadian actress, comedian, and writer Catherine O’Hara displayed her early comedic talent in a beloved skit: a parody commercial promoting “Milk of Amnesia.”

In the skit, O’Hara humorously shares, “After a tiring day, don’t you ever wish to relax and forget all the day’s troubles? I certainly do – with Philips Milk of Amnesia. I simply pour a glass of Philips Milk of Amnesia and watch my worries drift away to who knows where.”

O’Hara, known for her role as Moira Rose on the television series “Schitt’s Creek,” is currently nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Continuing Leading Comedic Role at the Canadian Screen Awards. In light of this, CBC Arts uncovered this vintage footage as a tribute to O’Hara’s comedic genius that has entertained audiences for years.
