A high demand for tickets in the $2 million Grey Cup 50/50 draw led to technical difficulties, resulting in some customers unintentionally making duplicate purchases, according to the Saskatchewan Roughrider Foundation. The organization stated that the draw for the winning numbers will be delayed until the ticket provider resolves the issue of duplicate purchases and reconciles the 50/50 draw.
The total amount for the 50/50 draw had reached $2,005,107 following Sunday night’s Grey Cup game, making it the largest single-game 50/50 prize in CFL history. The foundation acknowledged that due to the overwhelming website traffic, a small percentage of purchasers were charged multiple times.
The foundation reassured that only a limited number of ticket buyers were impacted, and all duplicate charges will be promptly refunded. The exact impact of the duplicate orders on the final prize amount remains uncertain, as well as the rescheduled draw date.
The Saskatchewan Roughrider Foundation, a charitable organization associated with the team, focuses on supporting educational, health, and amateur football programs in the province.
