Justin Bieber Sets New Record with Fifth Best Male Pop Artist Win

Date:

Justin Bieber achieved a remarkable feat at the American Music Awards on Monday by clinching the best male pop artist award for the fifth time, setting a new record. Hailing from Stratford, Ontario, Bieber had previously secured this accolade four times. His initial triumph in this category, previously known as favorite pop/rock male artist, dates back to 2010.

Entering this year’s event in Las Vegas with four nominations, Bieber was vying for prestigious titles such as artist of the year and album of the year for his 2021 album “Swag.” With this latest win, Bieber’s tally at the American Music Awards now stands at 19, putting him on par with the late Kenny Rogers for the second-highest number of victories by a male artist. The all-time record for male artists at these awards still belongs to the late Michael Jackson, who amassed a total of 24 awards.

In a recent milestone, the singer of the hit song “Peaches” made a triumphant return to the stage at Coachella last month, marking his first major performance since postponing a tour in 2022 due to health complications from Ramsay Hunt syndrome.

Among other notable recipients at the event, BTS secured the artist of the year award, while Sabrina Carpenter took home the album of the year honor.
