Dollarama Issues Recall for Garlic Powder Over Bacterial Contamination
Dollarama has initiated a recall of garlic powder and is advising Canadians against consuming the affected product. The recall specifically pertains to Heavenly Spices brand garlic powder packaged in 70 grams and distributed nationwide.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) recently announced the recall following Dollarama’s notification. The CFIA emphasized refraining from using, selling, serving, or distributing the impacted product due to potential health risks.
The recall was prompted by the presence of Bacillus cereus, a harmful bacterium known to cause food poisoning. Symptoms of Bacillus cereus infection can include nausea, vomiting, abdominal discomfort, and diarrhea.
