“All 24 Kidnapped Nigerian Schoolgirls Rescued”

Date:

All 24 schoolgirls who were taken by armed attackers from a school in Kebbi, northwestern Nigeria, have been rescued, as announced by the country’s president on Tuesday. The girls were kidnapped on November 17, with initial reports stating 25 were abducted, but President Bola Tinubu confirmed that all 24 students have been safely rescued. The details of the rescue operation were not disclosed.

President Tinubu emphasized the importance of deploying more security personnel in vulnerable areas to prevent future incidents of kidnapping. This rescue comes amidst a series of mass abductions in Nigeria, with another recent attack occurring at a Catholic school in north-central Niger state where over 300 students and staff were abducted. Fortunately, fifty students managed to escape over the weekend.
