An understudy filled in, and medical professionals determined that extreme exhaustion, dehydration, vasoconstriction, and low metabolic levels were the reasons for her condition. Megan Thee Stallion was released from the hospital and advised to rest.
The Grammy-winning artist announced on Instagram that she would be taking a break from the Wednesday matinee and evening performances to recover. She expressed her intention to return to the stage on Thursday rejuvenated and prepared to deliver a full performance.
Reflecting on the incident, Megan Thee Stallion acknowledged that she had been pushing herself too hard, leading to her body’s warning signs during the performance. She emphasized her commitment to regaining her strength and providing her audience with a top-notch show.
Making her Broadway debut as nightclub impresario Harold Zidler in the Al Hirschfeld Theatre production, Megan Thee Stallion was set to conclude her eight-week stint on May 17. Notably, she is the first female performer to portray the MC role in a professional production of Moulin Rouge! The Musical globally.
