Toronto Blue Jays’ standout first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has been nominated for a second consecutive Silver Slugger award. Major League Baseball unveiled the finalists for its annual accolades recognizing the top offensive players at each position in both leagues. Alongside Guerrero, Toronto’s shortstop Bo Bichette and designated hitter George Springer have also made the cut as finalists.
The winners, determined through votes by Major League managers and coaches excluding players from their own teams, are set to be revealed on November 7. Guerrero, who clinched the AL first-base award in 2021, boasted a .292 batting average, smacked 23 home runs, and drove in 93 runs while only striking out 94 times in 589 at-bats.
Despite missing the final three weeks of the regular season due to a knee sprain, Bichette secured the second spot in the majors with 181 hits. He maintained an impressive .311 average with 18 home runs and 94 RBIs. Springer, eyeing his third Silver Slugger award and the first since 2019, enjoyed a comeback season in 2025. The 36-year-old veteran achieved a career-best .309 batting average accompanied by 32 home runs and 84 RBIs.
